Have you ever had a dream of accomplishing something unusual? Maybe something that was bigger than seemed possible, yet you looked forward to trying to get it done. What has been your dream? For some it might be getting that “dream job” which they think will make them happy and successful. For others it might be having a relationship that is satisfying and in which they feel loved and accepted. I suppose that there are as many possible dreams as there are people.

My dream was to write a book. In fact I didn’t limit my dream to writing just one book. I have studied the Bible for so many years and counseled for almost as many years that I felt that I needed to write multiple books in order to get what I felt was an important message out to as many people as possible.

That day has finally arrived. As of today I guess you can consider me a published author! My first book, Becoming An Inviting Target: Steps You Can Take to Become More Loveable is now available on Amazon. See the link below. The theme of the book is to teach individuals how to work on themselves rather than asking a counselor to “fix” their partner. There is always some finger-pointing in marriage counseling. As long as we can lay the blame on someone else, we don’t think we have to take any responsibility. Not true. Just as we can’t read their mind, neither can we change them. But we can change ourselves!

I have other books in the works. One has to do with couples creating a Marriage Creed, which spells out their joint understanding and agreements about specific areas of married life. The other current work is a One Year Devotional for Men from the Book of Proverbs. This is all about gaining wisdom from God and the life that wisdom can lead to. I hope to have these completed and ready for you in the next few months.
