EFFICIENCY

I went to college, many moons ago, for a degree in Business Administration. My intention, at that time, was to work toward owning my own business. As time passed however, I was called into the Ministry which led me to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for a degree in Religious Education. So many of us have seen major changes in our lives which result in redirection that we weren’t expecting!

While I was still in college I was talking to my best friend and told him that I thought that I’d like to be an Efficiency Expert. It seemed a natural extension of my Business Degree since I have always been very detail-oriented. It seemed like a natural fit. Even to this day I focus very much on efficiency of movement and limiting the necessary effort to get the most work done…much to the dismay of some others around me! Have you ever heard the phrase, “A fly in the ointment”? It means that something has occurred that makes a situation difficult, or which dissuades someone from pursuing a certain course of action.

Well, my friend, who at that time had more work experience than me, immediately said, “NO! Everyone hates those guys!” And there was the fly in the ointment. I didn’t want to be hated! I wanted to further my education so that I’d be successful, not engage in something that would be an annoyance to people around me.

Long story short? I didn’t give another thought to being an Efficiency Expert. However, I carry that motivation for efficiency into my work today. As I Counsel and practice Life Coaching I look for the greatest good in the most efficient way I can communicate. There have been clients that connect very quickly with the direction they need to go to find healing and healthy relationships. Others have more to work through and take more time to get to the basis of their needs and the right solutions. In either case the plan and purpose of my work is the concept of efficiency: getting the greatest successes via the most direct path possible.

In these posts I am going to continue to share the story of my Counseling and Life Coaching. I want to share with you more of who I am and the philosophy behind what I do at Life Choices Christian Counseling and Life Coaching. We’ll be taking a look at some of the areas of my experience and the reasons some people look for Christian Counseling and others seek out Christian Life Coaching. Both are valuable, depending on the setting and the need(s) in a person’s life. I hope you’ll continue to follow these posts and consider Life Choices if and when you have a need.

Check out the rest of my information on this website. Contact information is provided for your convenience. We can work together in person, on the phone or on ZOOM.
